OUR CSR APPROACH

As a distributor of chemical raw materials for detergents, surface treatment, paints, construction and cosmetics, PCB Chimie committed in 2023 to the chemical industry’s Responsible Care® programme.

We are a small company, and we believe that responsibility does not depend on the size of a business: it is built every day, in the choice of our suppliers, the compliance of the products we distribute and the quality of our relationships with our customers and partners.

Our commitments

Responsible Care®

Charter signed in September 2023 with France Chimie. We carry out the self-assessment proposed by CEFIC (most recently in March 2026) and follow the resulting action plan.

RSPO

As a member of RSPO (trademark licence no. 9-4516-22-100-00), we offer our customers palm oil derivatives certified RSPO Mass Balance by our suppliers, and we publish our Annual Communication of Progress (ACOP) every year. In 2025, 57% of the palm-based derivatives purchased by PCB Chimie were certified under the Mass Balance model.

This reported figure is not audited through RSPO Certification.

A professional network

PCB Chimie is a member of France Chimie Île-de-France and of SEPAWA, whose annual congress brings together European professionals in detergents and cosmetics. These networks help us keep up with technical and regulatory developments in our industry.

How we work

A structured management system

Our quality and CSR management system is built on the requirements of ISO 9001 and the Responsible Care® programme. It is deliberately proportionate to our size and kept up to date on a daily basis:

  • four signed policies (quality, CSR, code of conduct, responsible purchasing);
  • procedures covering suppliers, products, customers, orders, complaints and changes;
  • indicators monitored throughout the year, bimonthly steering meetings and an annual management review;
  • a non-conformity register, with root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Responsible purchasing

As a distributor, most of our impact lies upstream, in what we buy. Our responsible purchasing policy is based on:

  • an annual evaluation of our suppliers and service providers (quality, regulatory compliance, reliability, CSR commitment);
  • sharing our code of conduct with our partners;
  • giving preference, all things being equal, to partners engaged in recognised initiatives (Responsible Care®, RSPO, ISO).

Compliant, documented products

  • Safety data sheets checked every year with our suppliers and passed on to our customers.
  • Monitoring of REACH, CLP and ADR regulations for every product we distribute.
  • Certificates of analysis checked on every receipt.
  • A range of bio-based raw materials, including plant-derived surfactants, to support our customers in developing more responsible formulations.

A lean organisation

  • No premises of our own: we work remotely, which removes commuting, and favour video conferencing to limit travel.
  • A single stock held by our logistics provider in Le Havre, with pooled transport.
  • Paperless document management.

Health, safety and working conditions

  • Occupational risk assessment updated every year, with follow-up by an occupational health service.
  • A formal remote working charter and safety guidelines.
  • Ongoing training in safety best practice and chemical regulations.

Business ethics and whistleblowing

Our code of conduct covers business integrity, anti-corruption, conflicts of interest, respect for human rights and working conditions.

Anyone, whether inside or outside the company, can report a situation that goes against these principles by writing to ethique@pcbchimie.fr. Reports are handled confidentially, and no retaliation is tolerated against anyone acting in good faith.

Our documents

Our commitments are set out in signed documents, which we make available to you:

Our next steps

Our approach is a journey of continuous improvement. In the coming months, we plan:

  • to measure and publish environmental and social indicators;
  • to extend our evaluation to all of our service partners;
  • to continue our Responsible Care® action plan.
